The Taylor family has made a lasting contribution to the cultural heart of Toledo by covering the cost of parking at the Toledo Museum of Art. This meaningful gift removes a barrier for visitors and honors a deeply personal wish from the late Julie Taylor.

“The Libbeys wanted the museum to be free, but the museum charged people to park. My wife, when she was alive, said, ‘Let’s do something about that.’ I’m glad to do this in my wife’s honor,” said Steve Taylor Sr.

Julie Taylor believed that art should be accessible to everyone, and that families, students, and visitors from every walk of life should be able to enjoy the museum without having to worry about added costs. Her vision lives on through this gift, which now ensures that guests can come and go freely without paying for parking.

By lifting this financial barrier, the Taylor family has opened the doors wider to one of the most important cultural institutions in Northwest Ohio. Their generosity supports the museum’s mission and invites more people to experience the beauty, history, and creativity within its walls.

This act of giving is not just about convenience. It is about honoring legacy, expanding access, and continuing a tradition of civic generosity that has shaped Toledo’s identity. It reflects the values of a family that believes in community, culture, and making a difference in everyday lives.
