On Friday, May 1, Taylor Automotive Family was proud to host an Author and Illustrator Reception in celebration of Claire’s Day, a Read for Literacy program that celebrates the joy of reading and honors Claire’s legacy by highlighting authors, illustrators, and reading excellence.
Our showroom was filled with stories, conversation, and community support as guests had the chance to meet and connect with local literary voices and browse books for all ages.
Live music from Woodward High School Orchestra
A special thank you to the Woodward High School Orchestra for providing live music throughout the reception. Their performance created a welcoming atmosphere and helped make the event feel truly celebratory.
Books available from Gathering Volumes
We were also grateful to have Denise Phillips, Owner of Gathering Volumes, on site with books available for purchase. Gathering Volumes is a beloved independent bookstore in Perrysburg and a wonderful community resource for readers of every age.
Why Claire’s Day matters
Claire’s Day, through Read for Literacy, is designed to build excitement around reading while bringing people together in a positive, uplifting way. It is a reminder that literacy is a community effort, and that access to books and encouragement can shape a child’s confidence, creativity, and future.
We are thankful to everyone who stopped by, supported the authors and illustrators, and helped make the day special. We are proud to partner with organizations like Read for Literacy and to open our doors for events that strengthen families and inspire young readers.
