A Year of Connection, Creativity, and Community at the Toledo Museum of Art

The Toledo Museum of Art continues to prove that great museums are about more than the collections they house. They are places where people gather, learn, create, and connect. The Museum's Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Report highlights an extraordinary year of impact, growth, and community engagement made possible through the support of visitors, donors, volunteers, and partners across Northwest Ohio.

Throughout the year, the Toledo Museum of Art welcomed more than 132,000 visitors, providing opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience art, culture, and creativity firsthand. More than 50,000 individuals participated in educational programs, art classes, docent tours, outreach initiatives, and public experiences, demonstrating the Museum's ongoing commitment to making art accessible and meaningful for everyone.

Families continued to find inspiration through the Museum's Family Center, which welcomed nearly 25,000 visitors, while community outreach efforts reached more than 14,000 people throughout the region. Educational experiences remained a priority, with 5,000 students participating in school tours and nearly 760 studio art scholarships awarded, helping expand access to hands on artistic learning.

This remarkable year also brought national recognition. The Toledo Museum of Art was named Best Art Museum in the United States in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards, an honor determined by public vote and a reflection of the deep connection the community has with one of Toledo's most treasured institutions.

A significant milestone came through the generosity of the Taylor Automotive Family, whose transformational gift will provide free parking at the Toledo Museum of Art for at least the next decade. By removing a barrier to access, this investment helps ensure that families, students, visitors, and community members can experience the Museum more easily and more often. It is a gift rooted in a shared belief that everyone should feel welcome from the moment they arrive.

Inside the galleries, visitors experienced exhibitions that explored art, history, and culture from around the world. Exhibitions including Ethiopia at the Crossroads, Return to Turtle Island, and Rachel Ruysch: Nature into Art invited audiences to discover new perspectives while reflecting on shared human experiences.

The Museum also took a major step toward its future by launching the first comprehensive gallery reinstallation in more than 40 years. Working alongside staff, community members, and design partners, this ambitious project is reimagining how visitors experience art across cultures, time periods, and traditions.

The accomplishments outlined in the Annual Report reflect more than statistics. They represent thousands of moments of learning, discovery, creativity, and connection. They demonstrate the impact that can be achieved when a community invests in arts and culture and believes in creating opportunities for everyone to experience them.

As the Toledo Museum of Art looks toward the future, its mission remains clear: to be a place where art inspires, education flourishes, and community comes together.
