Some leaders shape lives both on and off the court. In this week’s episode of Taylor Community Connection, we sit down with Dave McWhinnie, Sales Manager at Renewal by Andersen Northwest Ohio and longtime basketball coach at Toledo Christian High School.

Dave shares how Renewal by Andersen supported the Isaiah 117 Project by donating windows to help create a safe and welcoming environment for children entering foster care. His work highlights a commitment that extends beyond business, a belief in lifting up families and making a difference where it matters most.

Our conversation also reflects on his nearly two decades of coaching at Toledo Christian. With a career record of 321 wins and 123 losses, Dave has guided the team to seven league titles, sixteen sectional championships, and two district championships. Named Toledo Area Coach of the Year, he built more than a winning program, he built a culture of mentorship, faith, and character that continues to influence generations of student-athletes.

Dave’s story reminds us that leadership shows up in many forms, whether through community service, professional dedication, or coaching with heart. His journey is one of purpose, care, and lasting impact.

👏 Watch the full episode and join us in celebrating Dave McWhinnie’s leadership in business, on the basketball court, and throughout our community.
